Analysis Report of the ICT integrated lesson
The lesson was taught
on 14th September 2017 with the students of class IIB. In total,
there were thirty six students and the duration for the lesson was fifty
minutes. The topic of the lesson was “Seasons”.
Strengths
of the lesson:
The greatest strength
of the lesson is the use of ICT in delivering the lesson. Laptop, projector and
sound box were used as the teaching learning materials. All the pictures and
videos shown on the screen were related to the topic. The sound system was
good. All these added immense value to the quality of teaching, making it
holistic learning experience for the pupils. The display of pictures helped the
teacher to make the explanation clear and interesting to the students.
Instead of describing summer,
winter, spring and autumn verbally, pictures of different seasons were shown on
the screen for the students to see visually. It might have helped the students
to understand and remember the concept easily.
Proper instructions
were made for the students to carry out the activities. The activities were as
per the level of the student and could complete in time. Evaluation was carried
out by going to the respective groups. The lesson was closed by evaluating the
student’s work and making some students to read what they have written.
Weakness
of the lesson:
After the class, when I
reflected upon the lesson taught, I thought the picture of summer depicting a
man swimming in an ocean needs to be changed into Bhutanese context. The reason
being, it rains a lot in summer in Bhutan and no one goes for swimming in the
swollen rivers. Therefore, to avoid some sort of misconception in the minds of
the young children the picture needs to be changed into Bhutanese context.
Although the children’s
note nooks were evaluated but no checklist and rubrics were made to keep the
proper record of the children’s learning.
Overcoming
the weakness:
If I were to teach this
lesson again, I will change the picture of seasons into Bhutanese context to
make the children to understand the concept clearly.
Simple checklist and
rubrics will be developed to assess and keep the record of children’s learning.
Group presentation will be carried out in the closure part to encourage maximum
participation from the students. Lastly, I also thought that I need to arrange
the materials well in advance to save the time.
