    1. Children were given to write about their best season as an activity. I mean to check their note books by the phrase evaluate children's work

    2. I agree with Ms. Rinchen, are we evaluating children's work just to see they got it right or wrong, or are we evaluating their work based on rubric or checklist. I personally feel that to make our work more relevant and realistic we must include one form of assessment tools. We can evaluate this lesson based on the checklist so that we can include their finding from the library too.

  4. Kinga Namgay in the introduction, how about showing the picture of certain seasons and asking them to describe it. Or we can show the different weather pictures and relate it to seasons.

  5. I would like to make few changes in follow up, as per the sirs instruction he said we have to let children explore something after the lesson. So i was thinking of taking children to library and ask them look for more information from the library and draw pictures. This i feel will generate more interest and help them to look for information in the future. This is just my suggestion Kinga

    1. The lesson is of 50 minutes only. So will it be possible for us to take children to the library to look for more information? Any how your idea is great sir but....

  6. Kinga sir, lets change the introduction part la. My suggestion, show the pictures of the seasons one by one and ask them;
What is can you see in the picture?
Describe whats happening in the picture?
    Whats the weather like today?
What do you think, is it hot/cold/moderate?
What part of the year we feel hot/cold?
Can anyone of you tell me the particular term for that part of year?

Then we can introduce the topic: Season

  7. I too feel the same way as Yeshi sir. I think the lesson would be more lively if we could make some changes in the introduction part. Show pictures of different seasons one by one asking different questions and draw out the main topic "season."

  8. kinga sir,
I think we have to do something in follow up. Instead of independent work, lets ask children to visit library and collect more information on four seasons. Then ask children to collect pictures of different seasons for the display in the classroom. They can do so at their home.I feel that if we do that then the chain of what we did in the classroom can be linked outside the classroom as well. Throw your suggestion friend.

  9. After going through the plan, i was left at awe as to what are the activities child need to carryout independently. In plan it was just mentioned that you are going to ask question only. And at the same time what are we going to evaluate at closure part. I think we need to work out on activity and specify what are we going to evaluate. Thank you.

  10. Just see activity, followup and closure part. Its not in flow and sequence, not supplementing with each other. Just check once again. I feel that we need to make it in proper way.

  11. Actually they are supposed to write 5 sentences about their best season. They was left out and had made the confusion. I m going to make that changes la

  12. Thank you sir Kinga for making changes in the introduction part as suggested by two of us. But it seems those pictures are very confusing to our children. How about showing them pictures drawn by our free hand. I think it would be more appropriate and to the level of the children especially our Bhutanese children. Just my suggestion la.

    1. Madam Rinchen, i feel the picture should be okay. I personally feel that we should not always tuned to the bhutanese context. at times we need to expose them to western culture. What do other feels.
